New MacBook Pro With M2 Pro and M2 Max chips Officially Launched

Apple has officially unveiled its latest generation MacBook Pro, boasting upgraded 14-inch and 16-inch models powered by the cutting-edge M2 Pro and M2 Max chips.

Latest MacBook Pro

The new MacBook Pro is equipped with the powerful M2 Pro chip, boasting a maximum of 12 CPU cores and 19 GPU cores, as well as the option to upgrade to 32GB of unified memory. The M2 Max variant takes performance to even higher levels, featuring a 38-core GPU, double the unified memory bandwidth, and the ability to support up to 96GB of unified memory.

MacBook Pro

The new MacBook Pro models offer a range of storage options, starting at 512GB and going up to a maximum of 8TB. The devices are also available in the familiar space gray and silver color options.

M2 Pro and M2 Max performance

According to Apple, the M2 Pro chip offers impressive performance statistics:

  • 30% increase in graphics performance
  • 40% boost in the speed of the Neural Engine for faster machine-learning tasks
  • Additionally, tasks like rendering titles and animations in Motion are up to 80% faster than the fastest Intel-based MacBook Pro
  • Xcode compilation is up to 2.5 times faster than the fastest Intel-based MacBook Pro and 25% faster than the previous generation

And M2 Max performance is as follows:

  • a 12-core CPU, with a combination of eight high-performance and four high-efficiency cores, resulting in a performance increase
  • enables the faster rendering of effects in Cinema 4D at a rate of up to 6 times faster than the fastest Intel-based MacBook Pro
  • color grading in DaVinci Resolve is up to 2 times faster than the fastest Intel-based MacBook Pro, and 30% faster than the previous generation

The new 14-inch MacBook Pro with M2 Pro starts at $1,999, or $1,849 for education. The 16-inch MacBook Pro with M2 Pro starts at $2,499, or $2,299 for education.
